Unemployed
by LMNt

Edward D. Emerson looked up at his wife, Nancy, and mother-in-law, Elena, with only the dim awareness of a tiny infant. His mind was now too feeble to remember the events that brought him here. He had no recollection of the warning given to him by Elena - that he had better find a job quickly once he married Nancy.

Elena had agreed to her daughter's marriage of the unemployed bum only because he made her so happy, but she had made it clear to him that if he didn't go out and find work ASAP, she would take matters into her own hands. "Otherwise", she had said to him, "there are going to be some big changes around here".

No, he didn't remember any of that as he was laid down on the kitchen counter to have one of those 'big changes' at the hands of his wife-turned-mommy as his mother-in-law/grandmom looked on with condescending care. After all, if a man isn't bringing in an income, he might as well be a little baby.
