Mandy's Trouble

by Mandy

Twelve year old Mandy burst through the front door crying. Her hair was messed up and she had some bruises on her face. "Mommy, Mommy!," she cried. "Some big kids beat me up at the store. I was there buying Brandon's diapers and they made fun of me then beat me up because I tried to run!!"

Mandy's mother hugged Mandy in her arms, "There, there honey go sit on the couch and I'll be there in a second." Mandy's mom soon returned with a cup of hot tea. Her daughter eagerly drank it down. "There honey, that will calm you, and soon you'll forget all about those mean big kids." Soon Mandy was asleep and her mom carried her up to her bedroom and laid her down.

In the morning Mandy woke up feeling great. She hopped out of bed and ran downstairs. "Mommy is Barney on yet," she asked? "No honey not yet, go sit by your brother and watch him for mommy until it starts," her mother replied.

Mandy's mom stood there in the living room and watched as her two children played together. "Mandy will be happier this way" she thought as she watched the 3 year old playing on the carpet, plus she'll never have to worry about being teased about buying diapers again mostly because they will be for her.
