"Daddy won't be coming back this time," mother explained to little Janet.
The girl was sad, of course, but not as sad as you'd think. It seemed Dad had never been there for her anyway. He was always "busy with work," or "away on business." He always missed her birthdays and special things at school. Of course poor little Janet didn't know about all the affairs her father had been having, all the cheating and lying to her mother. But Mommy knew.
But now, Mommy told her, she was had a very special surprise for her! A new little brother! Wow! Out of nowhere!
"Well, name him 'Little Bobby,' after your father, Robert," Mother said with a grin as she held him. For some reason that seemed to make the baby cry all the more. In fact, every time Mommy said anything nice to him, like telling him what a good little baby he was and how cute widdle boy, he just cried more, like he didn't like it! But that was silly, a baby can't even understand what people are saying!
Now Janet didn't care that daddy was gone. This new baby was so cute she could play with him and dress him up and help mommy change his little dydee when he made peepee, and he would ALWAYS be with her!
