Emily, Martie, and Natalie, together known as the Dixie Chicks were in the dressing room at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. They had just taped a show for CMT(Country Music Television), promoing their new album. They were just sitting around, when all of a sudden, this little old woman walked in.
"Uh, excuse me, who are you?" asked Natalie.
"My name is Zoe, dear. I noticed that you call yourselves the Dixie 'Chicks'. Now, I am not the biggest fan of country music, but may I say that you three are amazing."
"Well, thank you," replied Martie. At first, the girls thought the'd have to call security, but it seemed that maybe they'd just gotten a new fan. And they were humble enough to know that the fans are what's important.
"One thing, though. I noticed that all three of you have wedding bands on."
The artists all nodded, as they were all married to wonderful guys.
Zoe continued. "I see. Then you must not be 'Chicks' anymore, but 'Chickens'." The singers started to say something, but were silenced by the old woman.
"And, since I AM a new fan of the Dixie 'Chicks', I'll have to do something to ensure that you remain 'Chicks'." With that, she produced a bottle of water, and threw it at the musicians.
"Hey, what the.........."Natalie started to say. She was
shocked into silence as the water hit her and her bandmates. The next
few minutes were chaotic to say the least, as three
young girls were found in the Dixie Chicks dressing room. Security
just couldn't believe that these three 9 year olds were who they
said they were....the Dixie Chicks. After searching for the girls'
parents', and failing, they turned the children over to the police,
who in turn gave the girls to a foster home, pending investigation.
Strangely enough, the 9 year old girls were not the only ones
involved in a police matter. Also on the Desk Sergeant's desk
were three missing person reports. One each for Natalie Maines,
Martie Seidel and Emily Robison.
