Donna and Amber
by Lane2K
Donna and Amber were twins. They had grown up in a middle class home, only children of a lawyer and his socialite wife. The twins did everything together, they were almost inseparable. Except when they were with their parents. Donna was daddies favorite and Amber was mom's.
They got word that their parents had died in a car accident while they were at college. They both rushed home so they could go through the house first and choose the things they wanted. Donna got home first and had opened their mother's safe when Amber walked in.
She pulled out the only thing in the safe and turned to face Amber. She held the yellow cupie doll in her hand, the one that their mother had always played with with Amber. Amber saw it in her hand and froze.
"Put that down, Donna. You have no idea what that thing can do.Donna, I want you give that to me NOW!"
Donna screamed "You always get everything!!" She threw the doll on the floor as Amber lunged for it. There was a flash and everything went black.
+++++++
Donna came to, feeling VERY strange. She got on her hands and knees, but that was as far as she could get. Then she noticed what she was wearing. A chuckle from across the room got her attention before she spent any more time thinking about it.
"Well, well. I see you are awake," cackled an ancient voice. Donna looked at the old woman sitting in the chair by the window. "Your last words, gave everything to me Donna. Even your years. And only I know how to put us back. Believe me, I am not going to stay old while you get to grow up again. I would if I could, though, you little bitch. Make you stay like that and I could have all of mom and dad's stuff and send you to an orphanage. Now, if you want to "grow up" again, I want to see you crawl for it."
Amber held out the doll for Donna to see, and Donna started to head her direction.
She would have made it too, except when she was about 3 feet
from her,
Amber suddenly dropped the doll and clutched her chest. Donna watched
helplessly
as Amber fell on the floor right in front her. She looked where the
doll
had landed...and it was gone.
