It was typically among the most dangerous situations facing a police officer. Dangerous criminals, heavily armed and holed up in a house. There were three of them, two men and a woman and they were wanted for a string of robberies and murders across seven states.
The situation was beyond the capabilities of the locals so, much to their chagrin, the feds were called in.
"Whatch' gonna' do," the town constable asked the head federal agent, "tear gas 'um?"
"We have a special gas projectile just in from the lab that we're going to use," replied the fed. "It's quite debillitating, but we wouldn't want anyone else to succumb to it, so after we fire it into the house everyone needs to pull back two blocks for an hour to let it dissapate."
"But won't they use the opportunity to escape," the local asked?
"They won't be going anywhere very fast," the agent answered. With that he loaded a cannister marked "PeppAR Spray" into the gas gun and fired it into the house.

An hour later, when they moved back in, their suspects were no threat. They were siting on the doorstep of the house and they had nowhere on their person to hide a weapon. The four-year old girl and two three-year old boys were turned over to the locals for placement in foster care. It seemed that the labs' new discovery was going to save on prison costs, too.
