Monologue by Sally Song (was age 36, now 20 months), recorded July 2, 2001:
"Yes, I eagerly volunteered to test the rejuvenation serum the scientists had developed. I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. After all, my life had gone nowhere in the past 15 years. I was stuck in a dead-end job, toiling long hours on a computer processing sales orders amid the plywood catacombs of a large impersonal business, cut off from fellow workers by the 5-foot 8-inch walls of my cubicle/prison. But now I had an opportunity to return to the beginning of my adult life and start anew.
"And the serum worked; perhaps too well. I had hoped the formula would make me 20 years old again, but it made me 20 months instead. Now only 29 inches tall and down to eight teeth, I was still very pleased with the results. I had been freed from my dreary life. I would not longer be trapped long hours in a cubicle performing repetitive tasks way beyond the threshold of boredom.
"But that was before I discovered that the scientists
would keep me all day in this!"
