The Greedy Sister

Kimberly and her younger brother Todd were jointly left a trust fund by their parents. The terms were that the fund would pay their living expenses, but neither could make personal withdrawals until they were 25. Kimberly was now almost 26, but Todd has just turned 24, and he was becoming worried that there may not be any money left in the fund by the following year.

"You must learn to control your spending. You spend far too much on clothes," Todd complained. "I spend no more on clothes than any other woman in my economic bracket," Kimberly answered. "But you buy only designer originals from Versace, Gucci, Pucci," he growled. "But I have to be stylish," she replied. "But after spending thousands on these dresses, gowns and suits, you wear them only once," Todd noted. "Well you don't expect me to wear anything that is out of fashion. Besides, I don't think you can do anything to stop me," Kimberly smiled.

Todd knew that he couldn't stop Kimberly from repeatedly dipping into the trust fund to feed her fashion frenzy, but he did know about Zelda. She operated from a storefront off the old downtown area, telling fortunes and lifting curses for her customers. At her insistence, Todd brought Zelda a lock of Kimberly's hair. She dipped it in a mixture of yak's sweat, snake venom and gray poupon mustard, then attached it to a straw doll. Sticking a key into the doll's back, she turned it counter-clockwise 25 times. "It's done. That will be $200. And don't you dare stop payment on the check," Zelda said.

When Todd returned home, he called for Kimberly. A loud "gooooooo" came from Kimberly's bedroom. On the floor, Todd saw a 10-month old baby who somewhat resembled his sister crawling around on the floor in an infant's one-piece coverall. "Looks like you're not going to be buying a lot of expensive single-wear clothes in the near future," Todd told the baby as a snide grin formed on his face. But baby Kimberly just smiled back, making baby talk in Todd's direction. If only he could have read Kimberly's mind.

Kimberly crawled over to two 42-packs of Pampers medium-size disposable diapers and patted them. In her mind, she responded, "Oh yeah? I just acquired all these wardrobe items and I'm going to wear each only once. In fact, I may wear several a day just to spite you. And you can't do anything to stop me!"
