The Web

"Come on, Jenny. Let's try again," Rob coaxed the reluctant pre-schooler. Jenny ignored him and continued to cook plastic eggs on the plastic stove in the corner of the room.

"Come over here now, Jenny," Rob commanded more sternly.

"Do I hafta," Jenny whined.

Two days ago, Jenny had been his wife. Now while technically still his wife, she looked more like the twin to Beth, their three-year old daughter. When Rob had gotten home that day, Beth greeted him at the door saying, "Mommy's wittle!" Beth led Rob into the den where he found Jenny in a puddle of her clothes at the computer. Somehow some place she had been to on the web had regressed her. Somehow, in the panic that followed her regression, Jenny had managed to crash the hard drive and lose any chance of following a history file to find the site that caused her problems.

Daughter Beth had hastily been packed off for a visit to grandma's. Rob was now spending all of his time trying to find the web-site that Jenny had stumbled into. The trouble was that with each hour, Jenny became less and less able to help.

"Let's try to find the web-site," Rob said as he pulled Jenny into his lap. "What were you looking for when you got little."

"Ummm...ummm, horsies?, she guessed.

"Think harder, honey. What were you doing?"

"I don't 'member," Jenny sniffled. She began to cry, softly at first, then accelerating to a full blown sobbing wail.

At that point Rob felt a wetness in his lap. Jenny had lost control of her bladder, soaking her overalls and Rob's lap.

And at that point he realized she never would remember where the web-site was.
